Foreign Office files for China now available
Foreign Office files for China, 1919-1980 is now available to all University of Sheffield staff and students. This resource, published in six parts, makes available the complete British Foreign Office files dealing with China, Hong Kong and Taiwan between 1919 and 1980. These formerly restricted British government documents, including diplomatic despatches, letters, newspaper cuttings, maps, reports of court cases, biographies of leading personalities, and summaries of events, provide detail on almost a century of constant change in Chinese history. See the Library's Foreign Office files for China page for more information and to access the resource.

Student satisfaction up again!
In this year’s National Student Survey, satisfaction with
our services has jumped to 94%. This
puts us 4th out of 24 among the leading Russell Group universities, just behind
Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College.
We’d like to say thanks to our students for this vote of
confidence. We’re continuing to invest
in our spaces, our services, and our collections to give our students one of
the best learning experiences in the UK!
