UoS students: win an ASUS Nexus 7 32GB 7" WiFi tablet

To celebrate the start of the 2013/14 academic year, we're giving all University of Sheffield students the chance to win an ASUS Nexus 7 32GB 7" WiFi tablet. All you have to do is like University of Sheffield Library or the Information Commons on Facebook or follow @UniSheffieldLib or @shefinfocommons on Twitter at any time from Monday 23 September 2013 to Friday 11 October 2013. StarPlus upgrade

StarPlus will be undergoing an essential upgrade from 8 am on Wednesday 18 September 2013. The work is expected to take a few hours, but services should be back up by early afternoon.

If you want to renew your books during the downtime, you can do this at self-service machines and desks. Ask a member of staff at any Library site or contact the Library HelpDesk if you need assistance. Keep an eye on our Service Status page for progress reports.

New look Jorum now available

Jorum has been re-launched with a new look and feel as well as improved searching and reporting features. Jorum is a JISC-funded service which offers free Open Educational Resources (OERs) for UK Further and Higher Education from a wide variety of subject areas. If you're a member of teaching or support staff in UK FE/HE, you can also register with Jorum to share your own learning and teaching resources on the site. Read the Jorum Blog for more about the changes, and see our Jorum page for further information and to connect.
